After starting my new Flickr account, I have picked up new momentum in sharing my imagery in a social networking setting. To continue with that push, and after following and enjoying pages from my fellow photographers, I’ve recently created the Kris Nelson Photography page on Facebook. And the response, thanks to my existing network on Facebook, has been very encouraging.
This isn’t the first page I’ve created on Facebook; that honor goes to my Maui by Photo Facebook page. It is however, the one I am the most excited about. As my photography work continues to grow, as with the site and the blog, my new Facebook page will rapidly expanding, too.
More Photographers on Facebook
I mentioned above that I took my time and followed some of my fellow photographers and their use of Facebook before creating my own page. To showcase their work, I’ve added many of them to the “Favorite Pages” section of my Facebook page and even started a discussion thread for my fan’s suggestions of their favorites.
And if that’s not enough, I’m also planning a new Facebook series here at the blog to showcase some of those other photographers and their Facebook pages. Be sure to stay tuned for that, too.
Check It Out
So if you haven’t seen it yet, I invite you to pay a visit to my new Facebook page. Even if you don’t have a Facebook account, you can still browse around and see what other people are saying about my images. If you are on Facebook and like what you see here and on the FB page, I encourage you to become a fan so you have another way to stay connected with what I’m working on. And, going one further, if you have friends that might also be interested in my work, use the Suggest to Friends feature on Facebook to help spread the word.
Thoughts?
As always, I’m interesting in hearing your thoughts. Leave a note here, or better yet on my Facebook wall, with your thoughts on the new page.
Thanks, and see you on Facebook,
– Kris
